Chart of the Day: 3 reasons why Singaporeans are leaving their jobs

For most employees, salary is the deal-breaker.

More than seven in 10 (77.1%) employees in Singapore are leaving their employers for a better salary package, data from Hays revealed.

Based on the Hays report, salary is the deal-breaker for employees across five sectors namely, construction, engineering and manufacturing (74%); healthcare, life, and life science (75%); technology (84%); financial services & insurance (79%); transport & distribution (69%).

Apart from better compensation, employees in Singapore also switch employers to seek better benefits (46.3%).

Across the five sectors, employees in the tech sector were the most keen to seek better benefits (53%).

Some (38.1%) leave due to new challenges they face within their organisation.
