Chart of the Day: Number of residents that won't seek work slips to 9,500 in 2017

The incidence of discouraged workers stayed low at 0.4%.

This chart from the Ministry of Manpower (MoM) shows that the number of residents discouraged from seeking work dipped to 9,500 in 2017.

Last year, the number was slightly higher at 9,900.

The incidence of discouraged workers has stayed low at 0.4% of the resident labour force, inclusive of discouraged workers, since 2013.
