Civil servants to get 1.1-month year-end bonus

Junior grade officers will also be entitled to a $700 one-time payment.

Civil servants will be receiving 1.1-month year-end bonus, whilst civil servants in grades equivalent to MX15 and below will be entitled to a $700 one-time payment.

“This year-end payment takes into consideration the economic outlook while recognising the hard work of public officers,” the Public Service Division reported.

“The Government will continue to pay the Non-Pensionable Annual Allowance (NPAA) of 1.0 month to all civil servants.”

The economy expanded by 4.1% year-on-year in the third quarter of 2022, dipping from 4.5% in the previous quarter.

Singapore’s gross domestic product growth was sustained in 2022, offset by the weakening due to the deteriorating global economic environment.

In this light, the Ministry of Trade and Industry revised Singapore’s GDP growth forecast to around 3.5% in 2022 from the 3-4% growth projection in August.

“Taken together with the mid-year payments, civil servants will receive a total of 1.45 months in full-year AVC, with those in the more junior grades receiving an additional one-time payment of up to $1,100 in 2022,” the announcement also read.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
