Four out of five employees say they are more productive working from home: survey

Employees say they feel safer to return to the office when staff are vaccinated.

Four out of five employees who are working at home currently say they would feel more productive in their roles because of the work-from-home regime, according to a survey by EngageRocket, in collaboration with the Institute for HR Professionals (IHRP) and the Singapore HR Institute (SHRI).

The survey revealed that 78% of respondents felt more productive working at home this past year, compared to 57% in April, 2020. This is now higher than the 73% of those working in office-based roles who feel productive in their roles.

The survey also found out that 57% of employees now feel safe returning to the workplace, whilst 60.4% of the respondents said they would feel safer to return to work once all their colleagues had been vaccinated against COVID-19.

“One year after the pandemic, new practices and digital technologies offer sustainable opportunities for remote productivity," said CheeTung Leong, CEO and co-founder of EngageRocket. "More employees may return to the workplace from April 5, but may not be ready to return to pre-COVID business-as-usual. The pandemic seems to have shifted mindsets about what is possible and has opened a door to a more sustainable “hybrid way” of working."
