Here are the best companies to work for in 2020

Tech firms dominated the list.

Google has been awarded as the best place to work in Singapore in 2020 by job search platform Glassdoor, according to a press release. The company was rated 4.5 out of 5 based on feedback from its employees.

It is followed by Facebook, which earned a 4.4 rating, and oil & gas (O&G) firm Shell, with was rated 4.3. Rounding out the top five are Amazon and Microsoft, which both got a rating of 4.3.

These five, plus Visa, insurance company AIA, software developer Hubspot, bank J.P. Morgan and IT firm HP make up the top ten.

The Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Awards are based on the input of employees who provided anonymous feedback on their company review about their job, work environment and employer over the past year. The awards honour firms with at least 1,000 employees.

Glassdoor noted that technology companies dominated the list, but firms from O&G, insurance and finance were also present. In addition, eight out of the 10 firms are based in the U.S., plus Shell in the Netherlands and the Hong Kong-based AIA. Eight out of the 10 Singapore winners are also winners in multiple countries.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
