Here's solid proof that Singapore is a better workplace than Hong Kong

Work-life balance is better here.

If you're one of the countless Singaporeans who stay long hours in the office and even bring work home, then you might want to take some comfort in the fact that Singapore is still better in terms of work-life balance compared to its regional rival, Hong Kong.

While more than 50 percent of people in Hong Kong and Singapore work between eight to nine hours on an average day, the Index indicates that 8 percent of Hong Kongers work more than 11 hours, compared to six percent of Singaporeans, according to the Compass Index.

However, there are more Singaporeans that do not bring work home. 27 percent of Singaporeans have never brought work home, compared to less than 20 percent in Hong Kong.

The Index also showsthat apart from better work-life balance, the Index also showed that businesses in Singapore are more optimistic compared to their peers in Hong Kong.

The Index shows that 43 percent of businesses in Singapore are strongly confident in the growth of their business this year, compared to 30 percent of businesses in Hong Kong.

Singaporean businesses are also more decisive in hiring than Hong Kong. The Index shows that 61 percent of businesses in Singapore plan to hire more personnel, compared to 44 percent of businesses than Hong Kong this year.

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
