Singapore firms hike wellness program offers in job ads

The job market saw a 1600% increase in offered mental health programs.

Offers of wellness programs in job ads increased by 1,600% as Singapore companies attempt to differentiate themselves in a tight job market, Indeed reported.

Over the past three years, employers have offered benefits, such as “mental health support,” well-being program,” employee assistance programs,” and “wellness programs.”

Indeed found that the most significant jump was recorded between the end of 2020 and 2021.

"The COVID pandemic's impact on workers' mental health is at the origin of this trend," Saumitra Chand, Career Expert for Indeed, Singapore, and India, said.

"Interestingly, however, the trend is not subsiding, which suggests many businesses see the benefits of offering these programs to attract and retain talent."

Citing Milieu, Indeed also noted that 50% of workers in Singapore have felt burned out, whilst 40% felt stressed at work.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
