SIIC Environment gets go-ahead to be on SGX Mainboard

Its stock code will be 5GB.

According to a release, Singapore Exchange (SGX) welcomed SIIC Environment Holdings Ltd (formerly Asia Water Technology Ltd and listed on SGX Catalist Board) to the Mainboard under the stock code, “5GB”.

First listed on SGX’s Catalist Board in 2005 as Asia Water Technology and now transferred to the Mainboard, SIIC Environment Holdings provides integrated engineering solutions for water purification, water supply and waste water treatment systems and facilities in China. It also provides seawater desalination and waste-to-power services in China’s water and environmental protection industries.

Mr Zhou Jun, Executive Chairman of SIIC Environment Holdings, said: “Hong Kong-listed, China state-owned conglomerate, Shanghai Industrial Holdings Limited, acquired us in 2010 against the backdrop of significant potential in the water business. This parenthood provides us strong support for capital funding and project pipeline in China. With more than a decade of operation in the water industry, the Group currently undertakes 39 water projects and one waste-to-power project in China.

The outlook for the water industry is positive, given the growing awareness of clean water in China.”
