Singapore part of Savvis' seven-city data centre expansion
The global IT conglomerate is building a new 32,000-sqft data center -- the only one planned for Asia -- due to open August 1.
IThis is part of Savvis' seven-city data centre expansion which spans three continents. In the United States, it plans to set up a combined 164,00-sqft of new space facilities across four locations: Santa Clara, Calif. (36,000 sqft), Washington, D.C. (45,000 sqft), Dallas (51,000 sqft) and Weehawken, N.J. (32,000 sqft).
Across the Atlantic, in London, Savvis plans to launch 23,000-sqft of new space facilities, with London (LO3) receiving 11,000 sqft and London (LO6) getting 12,000 sqft.
The data centre expansions should "increase the company's global footprint in response to growing market demand for its enterprise cloud , managed hosting , network and colocation services," said Savvis in a release.
This brings up the number of Savvis data centers in North America, Europe and Asia to more than 50.
