Prudential Singapore gets new CEO

She will also manage Prudential Financial Advisers Singapore.

Prudential has appointed Chan San San as its new chief executive officer (CEO) for Singapore.

Subject to regulatory approval, her role as CEO will begin in September this year.

Chan will also report to Dennis Tan, managing director of the strategic business group with oversight for Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

“I am delighted to welcome San San to Prudential. She brings extensive regional experience to the table, with a deep understanding of customers, paired with a breadth of consumer financial services experience in Singapore.” said Tan.

Chan will manage Prudential Singapore's distribution network, serving over 5,200 financial representatives, including Prudential Financial Advisers Singapore.

The insurer also partners with United Overseas Bank and Standard Chartered Bank.

With over 20 years of experience at Citi, Chan previously served as managing director, and global market manager at Citi Private Bank. She specialised in private banking for ultra-high net worth and high net worth clients in Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand.

Her expertise includes strategy, sales, marketing, client management, product management, strategic innovation, transformation, governance, and risk management.

Chan is a Chartered Financial Analyst and holds a bachelor’s degree in accountancy with a minor in business law from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

Tan joined Prudential Singapore as CEO in February 2020 after nearly three decades at OCBC Bank and Citi. He was promoted to managing director, strategic business group, in July 2022.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
