AirTrunk secures $2.25b green loan for new SGP2 data centre
The new facility will be built in Loyang.
Asia Pacific & Japan (APJ) data centre operator AirTrunk has secured a $2.25b green loan in Singapore to build a new AirTrunk SGP2 data centre.
The deal marks Singapore’s largest-ever loan and green loan for a data centre.
The financing is structured as a green loan, with the option to convert it into a sustainability-linked loan (SLL).
Proceeds from financial incentives tied to the loan will go into AirTrunk’s social impact fund.
The new facility will be built in Loyang, offering over 70 megawatts of capacity to support cloud and AI workloads across Singapore and Southeast Asia.
AirTrunk says the data centre is being designed to meet the BCA Green Mark Platinum rating and operate with a power usage effectiveness (PUE) of 1.20, one of the lowest levels in Singapore.
To cut its carbon footprint, the project will also feature green concrete and green steel.
