COTD: Bot surge, data centre traffic drive SG’s high fraud rate

The violation rate for APAC advertisers campaigns increased by 2% YoY.

Singapore recorded one of the highest rates of fraud and sophisticated invalid traffic in APAC at 1.6%, largely due to a 54% increase in non-human data centre traffic and bot and emulator fraud.

According to a DoubleVerify report, the violation rate for APAC advertisers campaigns increased by 2% year over year, although it remains 18% lower than the global benchmark.

This was mainly due to higher rates observed in Singapore and Australia, at 1.6% and 1.2%, respectively.

The two countries also saw a surge in nonhuman data centre traffic rates, which rose by 36% and 54%, respectively.
