Keppel enters South Korea data centre market

The planned 60MW facility in Ansan will be Keppel’s first data centre in the country.

Keppel has entered South Korea’s data centre market through a planned 60 megawatt (MW) greenfield facility in Ansan, within the Seoul Metropolitan Area.

The project will be developed through Keppel Data Centre Fund III, which has secured land for the facility. The fund will acquire an approximately 73% effective stake in the special purpose vehicle that owns the land.

The planned AI-ready data centre has secured construction permits and power approvals and is targeted for service by 2030.

Keppel said the facility is expected to be built to Tier III-equivalent specifications and will serve hyperscalers, cloud service providers, and corporates.

The project marks Keppel’s first data centre in South Korea, adding to its portfolio of 39 data centres with more than 800 MW of gross power capacity as of end-2025.
