Google has launched the Developer Space @ Google Singapore, serving as a space for Southeast Asian developers and entrepreneurs to learn, inspire, connect, and engage.

"Programmes that will be held here include machine-learning bootcamps, workshops on Google’s latest tools and technologies, and programmes such as LeadersLab and Indie Games Accelerator that fuel ecosystem growth."

The Building and Construction Authority’s (BCA) Built Environment Accelerate to Market Program (BE-AMP) has injected $6m to support the development and commercialisation of “innovative solutions” through Enterprise Singapore’s Gov-PACT initiative, which encourages the greater use of technology and automation.

"BE-AMP is an initiative by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA), supported by government agency Enterprise Singapore and JTC Corporation. TNB Ventures has been appointed as the program’s accelerator partner.

The project aims to bring inventors and companies together to fast-track the innovation process to solve real-world industry challenges."

About 54% of 2-room flexi flats are revealed to be purchased by seniors, aged 55 years old and above, the Housing and Development Board (HDB) said in an update.

"In turn, 91% of this age group opted for 2-room flexi flats with shorter leases ranging from 15 to 45 years (by increments of five years) due to the significant savings they offer.

Of the 7,945 buyers of units with shorter leases, most (2,545) went for 40-year leasehold flats. Another popular option is the 35-year lease (2,154), followed by the 30-year lease (1,344). In comparison, only 139 buyers chose the flat with the shortest lease of 15 years."
