Equinix, NUS partner to advance data centre sustainability

Equinix will invest $5.36m (US$4m) for a data facility.

Equinix and the National University of Singapore (NUS) announced a Co-Innovation Facility (CIF) to develop sustainable and energy-efficient solutions for data centres in tropical locations.

Equinix is investing $5.36m (US$4m) in the facility, which will be located in its upcoming SG6 International Business Exchange data centre in Singapore.

The facility will explore renewable energy integration, advanced liquid cooling, AI-driven digital twin capabilities for predictive maintenance, and efficient medium-voltage to low-voltage direct current power distribution systems.

It is expected to open in Q1 2027.
