IMDA, Cisco to build 5G opportunities and risk testbed

Cisco will provide IMDA with its hybrid 5G Core Network Architecture.

The Infocomm Media Development Authority of Singapore (IMDA) and Cisco have signed a Memorandum of Intent (MOI) to build a testbed for 5G and associated enabling technologies.

The collaboration will explore the opportunities and challenges of such emerging technologies.

Under the agreement, Cisco will provide IMDA with various technologies, including its hybrid 5G Core Network Architecture. This will allow IMDA to experiment and evaluate applications of such emerging technologies.

There will also be workshops and panel dialogues between IMDA and Cisco’s technology experts on threat intelligence and technology, such as the potential to harness AI for 5G cybersecurity.

Moreover, as part of Cisco’s Country Digital Acceleration program, Cisco will provide updates through training to share the latest trends and best practices in 5G.
