SC Ventures completes two AI projects with A*STAR IHPC
The projects were carried out under an MoU with the A*STAR Institute of High Performance Computing.
SC Ventures, the fintech and innovation arm of Standard Chartered, has wrapped up two major AI research projects in partnership with Singapore’s Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR).
The projects were carried out under a Memorandum of Understanding with the A*STAR Institute of High Performance Computing (IHPC), aimed at bridging scientific research with real-world market applications in finance.
The first initiative focused on using Large Language Models (LLMs) and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) to automate how banks map and respond to shifting regulatory obligations.
The system improved response quality, answer accuracy, and helped reduce bias in interpreting regulations.
The second project zeroed in on Fairness in AI. By identifying and qualifying fairness metrics, the team aimed to ensure AI solutions remain transparent, equitable, and trusted.
Looking ahead, both SC Ventures and A*STAR plan to expand their collaboration to explore GenAI’s role in improving compliance management, regulatory impact assessment, and ESG forensics.
