Singapore faces highest rise in AI-related incidents across Southeast Asia
Respondents cited security vulnerabilities (96%) and privacy breaches (94%) as major risks.
Over one-third (35%) of Singapore respondents reported experiencing more AI-related incidents in the past financial year, the highest across Southeast Asia, Deloitte reported.
It also highlighted respondents’ growing concerns, with nearly all citing security vulnerabilities (96%) and privacy breaches (94%) as major risks.
Despite Singapore's high AI adoption rate, only half of the respondents believe their employees have the necessary skills to use AI responsibly, marking the lowest confidence level in the region.
To tackle this skills gap, nearly 70% of organisations in Singapore are hiring specialized talent, focusing on immediate expertise rather than reskilling existing employees.
Respondents cited improved customer reputation (43%), higher trust in AI outputs (43%), and enhanced regulatory compliance (39%) as expected benefits of effective AI governance.
Meanwhile, across Asia Pacific, organisations with mature AI governance frameworks have seen a 28% increase in staff using AI solutions and deployed AI in more than three areas of their business.
These organisations also achieved nearly 5% higher revenue growth compared to those with less developed governance.
