Chart of the Day: Manufacturing output growth hits 0.7% in February

On a month-on-month basis, manufacturing output decreased 4.1%.

This chart from the Economic Development Board (EDB), shows the 0.7% YoY jump in manufacturing output in February 2019. Excluding biomedical manufacturing, output fell 1.6%.

On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, manufacturing output decreased 4.1%. Excluding biomedical manufacturing, output shows a decline of 0.1%.

Biomedical manufacturing output increased 13.3% YoY in February 2019, whilst transport engineering output rose 4.2% YoY. General manufacturing output and chemicals output went up 4.1% and 2.0% YoY in the same period respectively.

Only the outputs of the electronics and precision engineering segments declined at 1.1% YoY and 14.9% respectively in February.
