Manufactured product prices rise 6.7% in April

Domestic supply prices also increased, though at a slower monthly pace than in March.

The Manufactured Products Price Index rose 6.7% MoM in April 2026, following an 11.2% increase in March, according to the Department of Statistics.

The oil index increased 4.1%, easing from the 61.1% rise in the previous month. The non-oil index rose 7.3%, extending the 4.4% increase recorded in March.

The rise in non-oil manufactured product prices was driven mainly by machinery and transport equipment, led by higher prices of electrical machinery apparatus. Chemicals and chemical products, miscellaneous manufactured articles, crude materials, manufactured goods, animal and vegetable oils, and beverages and tobacco also contributed to the increase.

On a year-on-year basis, the manufactured products price index rose 27.5% in April, extending the 20.2% increase in March. The oil index surged 69.2%, whilst the non-oil index rose 21.4%.

Meanwhile, Singapore’s Domestic Supply Price Index rose 3.1% MoM in April, moderating from a 21.0% increase in March.

The domestic supply oil index fell 1.6%, reversing from an 82.8% increase in the previous month. The non-oil index rose 5.4%, continuing the 3.5% increase in March.

Year-on-year, domestic supply prices rose 31.6% in April, after a 26.7% increase in March. The annual gain was driven by a 79.3% surge in the oil index and a 17.1% increase in the non-oil index.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

If you've been wondering whether SBR could work for your company — yes, probably.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes. The shape of it depends on what you're trying to do.

The options are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. Some partners use one channel; most use a mix. We figure out the right combination by starting with your brief, not with our rate card.

So if the question has been on your mind, here's the easy way to ask it.

We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how. It's a better use of everyone's time.
