The FTSE ST Mid Cap Index gained 0.39%, while the FTSE ST Small Cap Index declined 0.14%.

According to OCBC Investment Research, US stocks closed lower on Monday, with the Nasdaq ending a nine-day rally as investors found few reasons to push shares deeper into record territory in a thinly traded session.

Six out of 11 S&P 500 industries finished lower. The best performers were Energy, which gained 0.25%, and Information Technology, which gained 0.24%, whilst the worst performers were Health Care, which fell 0.67%, and Industrials, which fell 0.39%.

“The weakness on Wall Street overnight could weigh on local sentiment this morning,” OCBC said.
