SIA led the gains amongst top active stocks with a 4.91% climb.
The Straits Times Index ended 30.55 or 1.11% lower at 2,778.55.
The top active stocks were DBS, which advanced 1.78%, SIA, which leapt 4.91%, UOB, which rose 1.38%, Singtel, which grew 1.73 %, and OCBC Bank with a 0.82% expansion.
The FTSE Mid Cap edged up 0.62%, whilst the FTSE Small Cap increased 1.1%.
