Sembcorp unveils new venture for carbon management solutions

It will offer one-stop access to renewable energy certificates and carbon credits.

Sembcorp Industries has launched its carbon management solutions corporate venture, GoNetZero, which aimed to support customers’ corporate climate action plans.

In a statement, Sembcorp said the venture will provide one-stop access to renewable energy certificates, carbon credits, and renewable energy and environmental attribute portfolio management.

OCBC Bank is partnering with GoNetZero for the renewable energy certificate aggregation programme with financial support, the first phase of which will target Singapore companies, with expansion plans to Southeast Asia.

Global lifestyle brand for gamers, Razer, also tied up with the venture through its sustainability service Restorify which “offers traceable and fractionalised carbon neutral checkout to both consumers and businesses.”

Meanwhile, UBS, using GoNetZero’s blockchain-based digital platform, will demonstrate the possibility of time-based granular verification and tracking to identify opportunities to reduce carbon footprint, which will be piloted at its Singapore office.

The venture is also backed by the Singapore Economic Development Board’s Corporate Venture Launchpad.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
