Starwood acquire 10.7% stake at ESR Group

ESR Group has $156b worth of assets under management.

Global private investment firm Starwood Capital Group has partnered with Stuart Gibson and Charles de Portes to acquire a 10.7% equity stake at ESR Group.

Gibson and Portes are co-founders of ESR. 

As part of the acquisition, all of the outstanding sums under the existing margin loan facility of the holding vehicle of Gibson and Portes will be fully extinguished.

Post-acquisition, Gibson will remain Co-Chief Executive Officer and an Executive Director of ESR Group, whilst Portes will remain a Non-Executive Director.
