Temasek issues 2-year fixed and floating US dollar bond offerings

Proceeds from the bond issuance will be used to fund activities in the ordinary course of business.

Temasek Financial (I) Limited (TFin-I), a wholly owned subsidiary of Temasek Holdings, has launched a dual-tranche bond offering, comprising 2-year fixed-rate and 2-year floating-rate US dollar bonds, according to a release on the Singapore Exchange.

The bonds—officially named the T2027-US$ Temasek Bond and the T2027FRN-US$ Temasek Bond—are issued under Temasek’s existing US$25b Guaranteed Global Medium Term Note Programme. Both offerings are unconditionally and irrevocably guaranteed by Temasek Holdings.

Proceeds from the bond issuance will be used by Temasek and its investment holding companies to fund activities in the ordinary course of business, the company said.

An application will be made to list both bonds on the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited (SGX-ST). However, the SGX-ST noted that approval for listing “is not to be taken as an indication of the merits” of the issuer, the bonds, or Temasek’s broader programme.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

If you've been wondering whether SBR could work for your company — yes, probably.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes. The shape of it depends on what you're trying to do.

The options are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. Some partners use one channel; most use a mix. We figure out the right combination by starting with your brief, not with our rate card.

So if the question has been on your mind, here's the easy way to ask it.

We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how. It's a better use of everyone's time.
