Singapore workers will likely be returning to their offices as companies prepare for the gradual easing of restrictions in the country.

Starting 19 August, the government announced that workplaces can operate at a capacity of up to 50%.

Jetstar Asia will require all its employees to get COVID-19 vaccines, in line with the guidance of the Singapore government.

The airline noted nearly 100% of all its team members have received their vaccine against COVID-19.

Those who are yet to complete their vaccination have until 1 October to be fully vaccinated.

The delta variant of COVID-19 may increase risks of hospitalisation, the World Health Organisation (WHO) reported, based on data from some countries.

Maria Van Kerkhove, technical lead on COVID-19, said the data from other countries showed that those who contracted the delta variant have higher risk of being hospitalised.

She noted that this does not show that contracting the delta variant could lead to more deaths.
