DBS, UnionPay launch multi-currency debit card

Cardholders can make direct payments in 14 currencies.

DBS Bank and UnionPay have launched the UnionPay Multi-Currency Diamond debit card, offering direct payments in 14 currencies.

The card eliminates multi-currency conversion fees for cardholders, according to a press release.

Currencies supported include Hong Kong dollar (HKD), Chinese renminbi (RMB), Australian dollar (AUD), Canadian dollar (CAD), Danish kroner (DKK), Japanese yen (JPY), New Zealand (NZD), Norwegian kroner (NOK), Singapore dollar (SGD), Swedish krona (SEK), Swiss francs (CHF), British pound (GBP), US dollar (USD), and the euro (EUR).

The physical card is crafted from 100% environmentally friendly materials, according to DBS.

Other features include payment notifications, instant messaging, free travel insurance, shopping insurance, and enhanced security measures to prevent fraud.

The product is fully digitalized, allowing customers to apply online.
