Gov’t appoints new A*STAR board member

It took effect last 1 March 2025.

The government has appointed Jermaine Loy, as a new member of the Board of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), effective 1 March.

Loy is currently the managing director-designate of the Economic Development Board

He joined the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in 2021 and served as the Principal Private Secretary to then-Prime Minister and current Senior Minister, Lee Hsien Loong.

Prior to this, Loy was Senior Director of the Strategic Planning Division at the Ministry of National Development from August 2017 to March 2021.

He also held various positions at the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Trade and Industry and served on the Board of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore.
