Open for business: TikTok Shop launches in Singapore

The in-app feature is in support of local businesses. 

TikTok has launched its newest e-commerce solution TikTok Shop in support for local businesses in Singapore. 

TikTok Shop is a dynamic marketplace on the platform that will allow consumers and creators to connect directly with brands and sellers. 

The new in-app feature was launched in Singapore as the country exceeded its potential as an e-commerce market with a projected market value of up to US$11.45b by 2025.
“As more people shop online, TikTok Shop presents the ultimate convergence of content and commerce with unique Shoppertainment experiences for all," Ng Chew Wee, Head of Business Marketing, APAC, said. 

"In this way, TikTok Shop not only empowers local businesses to effectively tap onto the platform's fast-growing audience base to drive tangible business results but also affords the delivery of content that delights and entertains – resonating with the right audience across the discovery to purchase stages.”

Through the app, users are given product recommendations through in-feed videos, livestreams, and a product showcase tab. 

TikTok Shop will also be waiving the commission fees for all ,erchants. It will only be charging a 1% payment service fee.
