SG Singles’ Day online sales surge by 159% in 2023

SEA’s transactions also skyrocketed by 140%. 

Singles’ Day remains the largest seasonal sales opportunity for Singaporean retailers, with online sales surging by 159% on 11 November 2023, according to a Criteo report. 

From a regional perspective, South East Asia’s online retail transactions during the unofficial holiday skyrocketed by 140% and the average basket size increased by 16%. 

Unit sales, which denotes the number of individual items purchased, increased by 178%, compared to 139% in 2022. 

The top most-bought product categories comprise baby and toddler (+407%), health and beauty (+352%) and furniture (+277%). 

In Greater China, transactions surged by 237% whilst Indonesian purchases increased by 194%. 

Moreover, the report observed that shopper activity tends to spike in the first (12 AM-1 AM) and last hours (11 PM-12 AM) of the day.
