Singapore Airshow signals Aerospace and Defence Industry’s resilience

The show welcomed more than 13,000 participants.

The Singapore Airshow 2022 officially kicked off with over 13,000 attendees, signaling the aerospace and defence industry’s resilience.

“We are heartened by the support and participation of the most influential aerospace and defence companies worldwide. Their presence displays the industry’s resilience and confidence for blue skies ahead,” Leck Chet Lam, Managing Director, Experia, organiser of Singapore Airshow 2022, said.

“The stage is set for strategic conversations, exchange of ideas and significant partnerships that will catalyse the recovery of the industry in Asia.”

Also present during the opening at the Changi Exhibition Centre were the Minister for Defence, Dr Ng Eng Hen, and the Minister for Transport and the Minister-in-Charge of Trade Relations, Mr S Iswaran.

Aside from the 13,000 attendees, almost 600 participating companies from more than 39 countries also participated, representing more than 70% of the top 20 global aerospace companies.

The event, which will be held between 15 to 18 February, will feature experts from the public and private sectors to discuss opportunities and challenges in sustainable aviation as well as the recovery of the aviation industry.

Aerial display participants such as Indian Air Force’s Light Combat Aircraft Tejas and Indonesia’s Jupiter Aerobatic Team, will also showcase dramatic stunts and manoeuvres.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
