Services sector business receipts rose by 4% in Q4 2012

Only one sub-sector deteriorated from last quarter.

According to the latest data from Statistics Singapore, business receipts of the services industries, excluding wholesale & retail trade and accommodation & food services, rose 2.4% in fourth quarter 2012 over the previous quarter.

All services industries registered higher business receipts except for education services.

Turnover of information & communication services improved by 6.8%, while turnover of business services excluding real estate, rental & leasing and recreation & personal services increased 6.6%. Similarly, higher business recepts were recorded by transport & storage services (4.1%), financial & insurance services (1.3%), health & social services (0.5%) and real estate, rental & leasing services (0.1%).

In contrast, turnover of education services industry decreased 14.9%.
