Chart of the Day: Here's proof that number of completed units in 2013-2015 were reduced

2Q13's number is 13,043.

According to Credit Suisse, looking at an average annual completion of 16,314 units p.a. over 2013-16E. Total completions increased 19% QoQ to 3,167, bringing YTD completions to 5,834.

"As we had earlier highlighted in our 2013 outlook report, although the supply completion pipeline looks to be concerning at first glance, we believe that the supply situation could be managed such that adjustments could be made to avoid significant oversupply," Credit Suisse said.

"We have seen in the past, due to resource limitations as well as market forces, supply can be delayed. Earlier in 4Q12, URA was looking at 16,439 units to be completed this year; as at 2Q13, the number was 13,043. Total units under construction and planned for completion in the respective years have been reduced."

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

If you've been wondering whether SBR could work for your company — yes, probably.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes. The shape of it depends on what you're trying to do.

The options are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. Some partners use one channel; most use a mix. We figure out the right combination by starting with your brief, not with our rate card.

So if the question has been on your mind, here's the easy way to ask it.

We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how. It's a better use of everyone's time.
