HDB rental prices down 3.5% in October

The resale volume also fell 9% from last year.

The price of HDB flat rentals dropped by 3.5% YoY in October, the Singapore Real Exchange (SRX) revealed.

According to flash data, on a monthly basis, the price for rents inched up 0.3%. HDB 3 Rooms, HDB 4 Rooms and HDB Executives increased by 0.3%, 1.0% and 1.0% respectively. Rent prices for HDB 5 Rooms decreased by 0.5%.

Rents were down 14.5% compared to its peak in August 2013.

According to the sub-indices for HDB rentals for mature and non-mature estates, rents both dropped 3.5% YoY for the two categories.

An estimated 1,713 HDB flats were rented in October, up 6.3% from 1,611 units rented last month but down 9% from the volume recorded last year.
