HDB rents jump by 0.5% in July

1,653 HDB units were rented in the month.

Rents for HDB are slowly inching upward, as rentals for HDB 3 rooms and HDB 4 rooms have increased by 1.3% and 0.8% respectively.

According to a report by SRX Property, HDB 5 rooms and executive rents showed signs of decline, decreasing by 0.8% and 0.4% respectively.

Year-on-year, SRX noted that rents are down by 3.8% and are now down by 9.6% from its August 2013 peak.

Meanwhile, HDB rental volume has decreased by 6.1%, with an estimated 1,653 flats rented in the period.

“Year-on-year, rental volume in July 2016 decreased by 10.3% from July 2015,” the report said.
