HDB resale prices inch up 0.7%

Number of units sold took a hit.

Housing and Development Board (HDB) resale prices crept 0.7% higher in July 2016 than in June 2016.

The Singapore Real Estate Exchange (SRX) reported the resale prices of HDB 3 Room, 4 Room and HDB 5 Room Flats went up 0.6%, 0.3% and 0.5% respectively. Only the resale prices of HDB Executive Flats dipped 0.4%. HDB’s YoY prices also climbed up 0.8% from July 2015.

Meanwhile, HDB’s resale volume slipped 13.7% to 1,573 flats sold in July 2016 as against the 1,823 transacted units a month ago.

YoY resale volume increased by 1.4% compared to 1,552 units resold in the same month last year. However, this is 56.9% lower than the peak sale of 3,649 units in May 2010.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
