HDB resale prices sink by 0.7% in August

Prices of HDB resale flats bucked a decrease last month, as the resale prices of HDB 4 Room and HDB 5 Room Flats decreased by 0.6%, 1.0% and 0.6% respectively.

According to a report by SRX Property, meanwhile, prices of HDB Executive Flats increased by 0.8%.

“Year-on-year, prices have decreased by 0.2% from August 2015. Prices have declined by 11.5% since the peak in April 2013,” the report noted.

Meanwhile, resale volume increased last month, with 1,879 flats being sold in August, a 19.5% increase from the 1,573 sold in July.

“Year-on-year, resale volume increased by 29.9% compared to 1,447 units resold in August 2015.Resale volume was down by 48.5% compared to its peak of 3,649 units in May 2010,” the report added.
