Here's a sneak peek to the preliminary concepts for Woodlands Regional Centre

It's projected to be completed in 15-20 years.

According to Maybank Kim Eng, the URA has already unveiled the preliminary concepts for the 100-ha Woodlands Regional Centre, envisioned to be a live-work-play environment serving the North Region.

It will comprise Woodlands North Coast, a waterfront destination for business, residential and lifestyle uses, and Woodlands Central, which is the commercial centre connected to the Woodlands MRT Station.

Full development is expected to take place over 15-20 years, but we expect MP13 to show greater granularity in terms of the land use and allowable plot ratios.

In fact, the 2H13 GLS programme already includes the first commercial site at Woodlands Square, which will be put up for tender in December 2013 under the Confirmed List.

Timeframe for this will be next 5-20 years for the whole Regional Centre.

There will be opportunities for retail mall developers (CMA, SPH) and integrated developers such as CAPL
