No need to worry about affordable homes: PM Lee
More than eight in 10 Singaporeans own HDB flats.
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong took to social media his assurance to generations of Singaporeans that the government will continue to provide affordable homes in the future.
“Here in Singapore, we know our public housing system works. More than 8 in 10 Singaporeans own the HDB flats they live in. More families are becoming flat owners, as we are completing more than 20,000 new flats each year. Rest assured that Singaporeans, now or in generations to come, will not have to worry about having an affordable home to call their own,” Lee wrote on Facebook.
Amidst the debate on affordable housing, Lee said the government is creating measures to increase supply of flats.
He added that buying HDB flats can be seen via the HDB website.
