Singapore to launch 17,000 new BTO flats in 2018

1,000 flats in Sembawang, Sengkang, and Yishun will be launched in H2.

The Housing and Development Board (HDB) will launch 17,000 new build-to-order (BTO) flats next year, slightly lower than the supply of 17,584 in 2017, Minister for National Development Lawrence Wong said.

"We will continue to calibrate our flat supply carefully, taking into account underlying demand and the stability of the HDB resale market," Wong said in his blog.

The minister added that new flat buyers will be able to choose from projects in both mature and non-mature estates, including the new Tengah town.

In the second half of 2018, about 1,000 flats will be launched in Sembawang, Sengkang, and Yishun. These flats will have shorter waiting times of about 2.5 years, instead of the typical three to four years for most other BTO projects.

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
