Infograph: Expert says Groupon and other daily deal sites are bound for extinction

Survey says 7 in 10 small businesses ‘hate’ Groupon.

According to CreditScore.net, a personal finance blog focused on credit and debt related topics by Jeffrey Trull , the death of daily deals could be very soon as consumers are ‘bored’ and merchants hate them.

He advised: “Depending on how long you’ve been a subscriber to any one of the thousands of daily deal sites out there, chances are you’re a little sick of the daily deal onslaught—from email overload to the repetition of the same old deals, even the most diligent money-savers can probably agree that the daily deals bubble is getting a little passe. But if you’re not sick of them, get your daily deals while you can, because the industry may be disappearing; from daily deal sites closing up shop in droves at a time, to deal titan Groupon’s shareholders beginning to cash out recently, the industry seems to be slowly but surely closing up shop.”

Here’s an infograph he created to push forward his arguments:

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

If you've been wondering whether SBR could work for your company — yes, probably.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes. The shape of it depends on what you're trying to do.

The options are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. Some partners use one channel; most use a mix. We figure out the right combination by starting with your brief, not with our rate card.

So if the question has been on your mind, here's the easy way to ask it.

We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how. It's a better use of everyone's time.
