Over 80% retailers confident in growing international sales
More than half favour their own e-commerce websites.
More than four in five Singaporean retailers remain confident that they will grow their international sales this year, despite recent trade tensions, according to an Asendia report.
This optimism is paired with a regional pivot, with 40% Asia Pacific retailers now seeing East Asia as the most promising destination for growth, followed by Southeast Asia (36%) and South Asia (28%).
Moreover, APAC is ahead of the curve in e-commerce tech as 44% of retailers in the region say artificial intelligence and automation are top investment priorities.
But more than half of Singaporean retailers favour their e-commerce websites to serve global customers, enabling more control over brand experience and margins.
On the sustainability side, only 56% in Singapore say they want to cut emissions, amongst the most likely globally to say they feel the pressure to do so.
