Seven in ten Singaporean shoppers open to no packaging for online orders: report

Shoppers were mainly concerned about recycling or disposing of the packaging.

The vast majority or 77%  of Singaporean shoppers said they do not mind receiving online orders without packaging, according to a study commissioned by Amazon.

Saving time in recycling or disposing of the packaging (47%) was the top reason for shoppers in the city-state to be happy in receiving orders without delivery packaging.

Reducing consumption of the packaging (46%), helping save resources and reduce carbon emissions (45%) were other reasons stated by shoppers.

While 43% simply said that no added delivery packaging was better for the planet.

80% said they preferred shopping with retailers that reduce using packaging material.

39% believe retailers and manufacturers should prioritise reducing delivery packaging while using recyclable packaging when necessary.

Meanwhile, having reusable packaging (29%) and recyclable (26%) should be prioritised.
