ST Engineering's US Marine segment wins building contract

It will build a barge designed to carry 4,000 cubic metres of liquefied natural gas.

The US shipyard of Singapore Technologies Engineering (ST Engineering), VT Halter Marine, bagged a contract to build an offshore Liquefied Natural Gas Articulated Tug and Barge (LNG ATB) unit.

According to a press release, the project which was awarded by Quality Liquefied Natural Gas Transport LLC (Q-LNG) will work on America's first LNG-ATB unit.

The barge is designed to carry 4,000 cubic metres of LNG and is designed to meet the requirements of American Bureau of Shipbuilding (ABS) and the International Gas Carrier (IGC) code as an LNG bunkering barge.

VT Halter Marine will work on engineering services for the development and construction of one unit.

The firms did not disclose the worth of the contract. The anticipated delivery date for the unit is in the first quarter of 2020.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
