Keppel O&M bags FPSO conversion project from SBM Offshore
It will work on refurbishment and installation of new parts.
Keppel Offshore & Marine (Keppel O&M)'s subsidiary Keppel Shipyard bagged a Floating Production Storage and Offloading vessel (FPSO) conversion contract from SBM Offshore N.V. (SBM Offshore).
According to a press release, Keppel Shipyard will convert a Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC) into a FPSO that will be deployed into the Liza field, near Guyana in the Stabroek block.
Keppel Shipyard will work on refurbishment and life extension works, upgrading of living areas, and installation of spread mooring systems and topside modules.
The converted FPSO will have a storage capacity of 1.6 million barrels of crude oil and is capable of producing 120,000 barrels of oil a day.
It will have a gas treatment capacity of around 170 million standard cbf per day and a water injection of at least 200,000 water barrels a day.
