Seatrium, Solvang partner on Carbon Capture Systems
The collaboration will support Solvang ASA in fleet decarbonisation.
Seatrium Limited has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with partner Solvang ASA, Norway, for the installation and retrofitting of a full-scale Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) system.
The collaboration will support Solvang ASA in fleet decarbonisation following the delivery of Clipper Eris—the world’s first full-scale turnkey retrofit of a 7-megawatt CCS system.
Seatrium provides turnkey Engineering, Procurement, and Construction solutions for the CCS package for the project.
Solvang's new Very Large Gas Carriers series is the first candidate for full-scale CCS retrofit and integration, with the project set to begin in late 2026.
The Letter of Intent was formalised during Nor-Shipping 2025 in Oslo.
