Market update: STI up 1.23%

Two banks led the index on the last trading day before the long weekend.

The Straits Times Index closed at  3,375.98, up 1.23%, on 29 April 2022, the last trading day before a long weekend.

Two banks, OCBC and DBS, were amongst the top companies with 3.60% and 2.76%, respectively, buoyed by favourable financial results. This was followed by Yangzijiang Shipbuilding, who recently listed its subsidiary on the SGX, at 2.25%.

Jardine Matheson Holdings, SATS and City Developments were at the bottom with 4.99% down, 2.57% down, and 1.95% down, respectively.
