SGX securities trading turnover up 42% MoM to $29.6b in February

SDAV also increased by 42% MoM to $1.b.

The Singapore Exchange (SGX) reported a 42% month-on-month (MoM) increase in securities market turnover value to $29.6b in February, driven by heightened trading activity.

The securities daily average value (SDAV) also rose 42% m-o-m to $1.5b, marking the highest level since May 2022.

In the derivatives segment, traded volume climbed 17% year-on-year (YoY) to 25.6 million contracts, whilst derivatives daily average volume (DAV) increased 8% YoY to 1.4 million contracts.

Meanwhile, foreign exchange (FX) futures trading hit record highs as concerns over U.S. trade tariffs fuelled volatility across Asia-Pacific currencies. SGX FX total futures traded volume surged 72% YoY in February to 6.1 million contracts, an all-time high.
