Certificates of Entitlement quota pegged at 23,063

The said Certificates of Entitlement (COEs) quota is for the period August 2010 to January 2011, with bidding to begin with the August 2010 First Open Bidding Exercise.

According to the Land Transport Authority, the COE quota consists of the following components:

* Provision for 1.5% vehicle growth based on the vehicle population as at 31 December 2009;
* Replacement COEs for vehicles de-registered between January and June 2010; and
* Adjustment for over -estimations of vehicle de-registration in 2008/2009.

The next COE quota announcement, for the COE bidding period from February 2011 to July 2011, will be made in January 2011.
