Gov't to roll out initiatives enhancing last-mile delivery
An e-guide will be developed to enhance safe practices amongst delivery personnel.
The government will introduce new measures to enhance last-mile deliveries and minimise disamenities caused by delivery pick-ups and drop-offs.
In line with this, the Land Transport Authority (LTA), along with the Digital Platforms Industry Association, Workplace Safety and Health Council and National Delivery Champions Association (NDCA), will develop an e-guide to enhance safe practices amongst delivery personnel.
The e-guide will recommend safe practices for riders, covering device purchasing considerations, riding rules, path and road-sharing etiquette, and proper parking.
Additionally, the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) and LTA are developing a Design and Operations Guide for Last-mile Deliveries to encourage more delivery-friendly features in private developments. For instance, the guide may recommend appropriate locations and sizes for delivery waiting bays and collection locker provisions, and for building managers to streamline access.
NDCA, URA, and the Singapore Land Authority are also exploring listing delivery waiting bay locations on OneMap to simplify access for delivery personnel.
